Back Issues:

August 28, 2014 – Join in on a Rally TODAY, at the Statehouse, “Vote Our Dreams, Not Our Fears – Rally for a Moral and Just Ohio”, for people who care about a living wage, immigration, health-care, and education.  Register your outrage through an online poll held by the Cleveland Plain Dealer over another clinic closure, this time in the Cincinnati area, caused by unjust laws and unjust enforcement by Ohio government.  Read some follow-ups on the terrible ruling on the Hobby Lobby Supreme Ct. case, including a blog by Rev. Scott Colglazier and an analysis by Raising Women’s Voices of the response by the Obama administration.  Sign up for one of two excellent workshops on MESSAGING for Advocates and Professionals (9/14 in Columbus, 9/22 in Cleveland) held by Core Align and the Reproductive Health Technologies Project.  Learn a few facts about how to “Heal the Sick” through Outreach and Education on Medicaid (now expanded within Ohio) and the Health Insurance Marketplace, and how there’s a lot in it for women and for stopping unintended pregnancies and reducing infant mortality rates.

June 23, 2014 – Hobby Lobby Supreme Ct. Decision Expected next week; we can help you voice the progressive response regardless of the outcome; Sign-up NOW to volunteer for the “Freedom of Choice, Ohio” booth at this weekend’s ComFest in Columbus; you will get much more out of it than you put into it!

March 21, 2014 – Two ways to help Sisters and Brothers before March 31: Take a loved one in need of health insurance or more-affordable, better insurance, by the hand, to an Health Insurance Enrollment Fair/Event nearby (UHCAN Ohio has a spreadsheet listing over 70 events across the state), and if you are in the Columbus area, there is a Faith Communities Health Insurance Enrollment Fair at a downtown church THIS SUNDAY, 3/23 from 2-4.  Also, Join with our national parent, RCRC, and Rally for Family Planning and Religious Freedom in the many ways suggested by Rev. Harry Knox; this is so important in the face of the Supreme Ct. case being heard on Tuesday, March 25 that could allow businesses to discriminate against employees when it comes to providing birth control in insurance plans, and much much more.

January 10, 2014 – Invitation to the Roe Event on Tuesday, January 28 in Columbus featuring Author Robin Martin.  Introduction of the “People of Faith, Healing the Sick” materials and help by board member Cathy Levy, who is working with Raising Women’s Voices to bring this information to faith communities.  Links to two good webinars; one by the UU Church on reproductive justice by and through men, and another by the Methodist Church on reproductive justice needs of women who are victims of Human Trafficking.

April 15, 2013 – Summary of 10 ways to help, starting TODAY, ranging from Short-Term-Urgent to Long-Term-Important, to improve the health of women, and really ALL Ohioans.  The Ohio House is debating the budget, and there are three amendments that we OPPOSE.  The first will DeFund Planned Parenthood.  Yes.  It’s back.  The second will redirect TANF funds to so-called “Crisis Pregnancy Centers”, which are the ones that spread misinformation about birth control and abortion.  The third will yank out Medicaid Expansion, which will leave hundreds of thousands of Ohioans without health care, and keep them in our Emergency Rooms, getting the most expensive care at the highest level of suffering.   Also, from the long-term perspective, we have TWO Empowerment Conferences to sign up for, one in Cinci on April 23 and another in Columbus on April 27.

April 8, 2013 – CRAZY times!  Attend a Rally this Thursday, April 11, to support Medicaid Expansion; it looks like it might not pass the House… CRITICAL to change this tide!  Sign-up NOW for Lobby Day, which is Wed.
