OHIO RCRC
The only interfaith voice for choice advocating in the Ohio legislature
Ohio legislators learn that people of faith believe women are competent to make important personal decisions, through the lobbying, testimony, and letters from religious and spiritual Ohioans.
A source of spiritual strength for women in crisis
Clergy of many faiths specially trained in All Options Clergy Counseling are ready to support women’s decisions in their own congregations and for callers to our toll-free Hotline.
Providing resources for congregations of many faiths
Faith and Choices workshops and educational materials help congregations discuss difficult issues of reproductive health and choice and learn about their own denomination's pro-choice stance.
Educating the public
Panels of religious pro-choice speakers, Peaceful Presence demonstrations, e-newsletters, quarterly newsletters and thoughtful online educational articles communicate the spiritual pro-choice message to Buckeyes all over the state.
Bringing spiritual young people to the movement
Campus SYRF (Spiritual Youth for Reproductive Freedom) organizers at Ohio colleges give students a place to develop leadership skills and take action.
Educating African-American congregations and youth for the future
The BCI (Black Church Initiative) provides sex education that involves parents and works in the real world. BCI organizers teach facilitators to lead model faith-based dialogues on sexuality for teens and adults and to teach a four unit course in comprehensive sex education in their own congregations.
Supporting the separation of church and state
Because religions disagree on the precise time when abortion is a moral option, we support religious liberty for reproductive choices. Under our Constitution, government cannot legislate one religious view over another.
