FAITH AND CHOICES

OHIO RELIGIOUS COALITION FOR REPRODUCTIVE CHOICE (Ohio RCRC)
FAITH AND CHOICES CURRICULUM

The Ohio Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (Ohio RCRC) is a state affiliate of the national Religious Coalition. RCRC is an organization established as a coalition of Christian, Jewish and other religious organizations that believe a woman should have the freedom to make reproductive choices according to her own religious and moral beliefs. For more information about our staff and programs, see www.ohiorcrc.org or call us for an appointment.

WHAT:

Faith and Choices is a curriculum developed by the RCRC to help congregations discuss issues related to reproductive choice.  It is designed as three to four one-hour long sessions, or any combination thereof, that can be incorporated into an on-going adult education program. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss:

  • Their knowledge about and views on reproductive choice.
  • Their denomination’s position on abortion, choice and religious liberty.
  • Youth and their sexual decisions.
  • Becoming pro-active about sex education and reproductive freedom.

WHO:

  • Congregations from seven member denominations of the RCRC: Episcopal, Presbyterian USA, United Methodist, and Unitarian Universalist Churches, United Church of Christ, and Reform and Conservative Judaism
  • 2 (or more) facilitators from each congregation to lead Faith and Choices courses (or workshops)
  • Congregation members participating in courses
  • Ohio RCRC Director and Faith and Choices Program Director to train and support leaders and congregations throughout courses and implementation of action plans
