Our elected leaders will stop at nothing to control our bodies and beliefs.
Just last week, the Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 23 — a six-week abortion ban that makes no exceptions for rape or incest and would charge medical doctors with a felony for providing an abortion.
As our executive director stated in Jezebel, this proposed law is shameful and unconstitutional. The bill has now moved to the Ohio House, and this is our LAST CHANCE to testify against it.
We need to show strong, moral opposition to this bill. Join us at the Statehouse next Tuesday, March 26th, at 11:00am in Room 017 to stand witness against this extreme bill.
Governor DeWine has already stated he will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. If so, safe and legal abortion access would be outlawed in Ohio.
On Tuesday, faith leaders will testify against the bill and share their values — including Rabbi Jessica Shimberg, Rev. Terry Williams, Rev. Dr. Marian Stewart, Rev. Joan VanBecelaere, Pastor Al Debelak, Rabbi Sharon Mars, and others. If you would like to testify as well, contact us ASAP at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope you can join us at the Statehouse to bear witness against this dangerous bill. If you can’t make it on Tuesday, here are other ways you can stand up for religious and reproductive freedom:
Sign our Clergy for Choice Letter by April 5th (or ask a spiritual or faith leader to do so)
Register for the Freedom of Choice Ohio Advocacy Day on April 10th
Make a donation to keep our work going strong
As always, thank you for your solidarity and support. Your witness makes all the difference.
