Religious and reproductive freedom as we know it is under attack. President Trump recently nominated Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court — a move that could mean the end to safe and legal abortion.

Regarded by many as a defender of religious liberty, Kavanaugh has a track record of blurring the lines between church and state. In favor of religious interests, he has ruled against the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate and recently argued against the right of an undocumented immigrant to receive abortion care.

Protect religious freedom and reproductive rights. Tell Ohio's senators to vote NO on Kavanaugh.

Let’s be clear: To use one's religious beliefs to impede another's access to civil rights and reproductive health care isn't religious freedom — it's religious oppression.

Our various faith traditions teach compassion, but Kavanaugh has shown he would criminalize and punish women.

Act now to stand with women and to preserve religious liberty. Sign this petition to urge your senators to NOT confirm Kavanaugh.

To Senators Rob Portman & Sherrod Brown:

As a person of faith, conscience, and goodwill — who supports the right to safe and legal abortion — I urge you to NOT confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

My faith calls me to trust women to decide what is best for their reproductive lives and families. But Kavanaugh has a track record of criminalizing abortion and punishing women. He has ruled against the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate and recently argued against the right of an undocumented immigrant to receive abortion care.

The decisions of if, when, and how to become a parent are deeply personal and sacred. The Constitution protects the rights of all people to make decisions about their own lives, bodies, and futures — including the right to use contraception and to have an abortion. But Kavanaugh’s nomination is part of a broader effort to gut or overturn Roe v Wade and devalues the moral dignity of women.

He is also regarded as a defender of religious liberty, yet routinely blurs the line between church and state. Kavanaugh does not represent my values. To use one's religious beliefs to impede another's access to civil rights and reproductive health care isn't religious freedom — it's religious oppression.

For the sake of religious and reproductive freedom, please vote NO on Kavanaugh.
